I was just told to keep taking it slow. I do 60ml every half hour. I've been able to do about 40 but working on it. All I've felt is gas (a cramping feel) my upper left side. Just take it slow, keep burping and passing gas

Try sipping warm liquids if you haven't already. When I had my VSG (I'm assuming it would be much to same for the DS), it was much more comfortable to have warm herbal/fruit tea or warm water with lemon for the first while.

Good luck to you.

I agree about trying warm liquids. You might try some warm herbal tea and add a little lemon.

Welcome to the dark side!  : )

Still not doing well..  Pain/gas/heartburn with every sip of fluid and my pain is still very strong. Really discouraged.. when you feel bad it's hard..

It IS hard.  Were you done lap?  If so, you are still retaining the gas.  Fluids, warm fluids and walking are your best friends right now.  Even if it's just a lap around the dining room table every hour.  And pain meds.  Don't be afraid to take them.  It gets better.  I promise.

It is hard, that's for sure, but it's also very important. Keep trying different things at different temperatures. If you're trying stuff like crystal ligh****er it down. Egg drop soup is another alternative.

It sounds like you also need something to reduce stomach acid. That can make a huge difference. If you doc didn't prescribe something, or if what he gave you isn't working, you can get Prilosec over the counter. My surgeon prescribed Pepcid, which did nothing for me, but prilosec made all the difference.

Keep trying, but if you get dehydrated, go to the ER and get IV fluids. You will feel so much better!

Did they give u an antacid prescription? I can't go without it still and I am 2 months out.... I was taking it as soon as I was sent home... Also try smaller sips... And don't drink with food.
