I am curious to talk to someone who has traveled to NY to Dr Roslin for wls esp a revision to DS! I am looking for a veteran Dr and the closest is Dr Roslin in NY which is an 8-9 hr drive one way! I don't understand how the followups would work, how many there would be, how long of a stay it usually is and what if I would have complications what I would do being so far away! Anyone going thru this give me some advice?? Thanks....Diane

Only thing I can say is that I had surgery with Dr. Roslin, and he is amazing!  The office staff where he works, meh.  They are overworked and for a while, they could not seem to find my file after 3 months.   Why you need to make sure to keep your own records and document everything!   He takes on some of the most difficult revisions.  I strongly recommend him.  He is a classic New Yorker, opinionated, with an ego, and unafraid to tell you how it really is.  That candor can be difficult for some, I found it refreshing.    Dr. Roslin saved my life!

Thank you Cobin Y for your reply! I have heard he is an amazing surgeon! Can I ask how long your stay in the hospital and area was?? And how are you doing with the vitamins and/or food intake??

I have had 4 wls, the ds was my last with Dr Roslin, he is amazing, yes I had to fly for my surgery, stayed in a hotel the night before and was in the hospital for 4 days, i was a difficult revision patient.  by the way I did this all ALONE, I would not recommend that but I did what i had to do.  complications depending on what they are, are always an issue.  when you leave the hospital you will be stable, if you have any issues, you call the office immediately, ask Dr Roslin what to do, who to call, if he thinks it is an emergency he will tell you what to do, he wants you to get a WLS close to you.  i am still unable to find anyone who will take me...since i had that "deadly DS"  he is amazing, i only had one follow up with him, but i have emailed him for years...he is always there to help....talk to him, explain your concerns, see what he recommends,  he is very direct, and fiercely protective of his patients...

wishing you the best

Thanks for your post! So can I ask how your recovery was?? I've read a couple horror stories after revisions to DS so I was wondering! Did you have a band or bypass originally?? Also how far out are you now! Thanks!
