Dry Vitamins / Protein

Thanks PeteA! These tablets of Vitamin D I have don't say anything about being oil based in anyway... The ingredients are: Dicalcium Phosphate, Cellulose, Titanium Dioxide, and Vegetable Acetoglycerides.

From reading that I'd assume it is dry?

Thank you also for the protein suggestion. I might try the vitalady sample method as well. There are so many options out there. I guess I have my whole life now to try them :)

Thanks everyone this was really helpful on the vitamins. It seems like ordering from vitalady is what I need to do. I'm going to post when I get an order going to get some feedback on if what I am ordering is a good start.

If you have some oil gel caps, don't throw them away.  We can still take them.  Just count on absorbing 20% of the dose listed on the bottle.  Generally speaking, look for pills, not gelcaps.

Thought I'd throw my situation in here, too. I had RNY and my last labs show me at the lowest number in my lab range for Vitamin A. I'm also taking vitalady's dry A. Before my labs I was taking one of the 25000 iu per day and just upped it to taking 50000 iu 4x a week and 25000 iu 3x a week. I'll see how this works for me. Remember I don't malabsorb fat like y'all do.

Hope this helps but in perspective what the ladies are saying compared to what your surgeon recommended.

Thank you for sharing. I ordered the vitalady 25,000IU. I will start with one per day and see how my next labs turn out since I was not taking any other than my Multi ADEK when my labs cam back low.

Those of you who buy the bottles of vits. What kind of vitamin box do you put them in? I use a 7-day container for my regular meds but I don't know how to organize all those vitamins.

Oh, and should I start taking them now, or wait until I actually have the surgery?

I have been putting mine in a 7 day organizer straight from the bottles each week. My pill organizer has an AM and PM slot and then I take a small one for the week to work with me for my mid day batches.

I think I'm going to invest in this eventually though. I like the idea of not having to sort daily.

Also you might want to start a new post to get more feedback. After people reply once I don't know how many people go back and read a post so they might not see you have asked this.

Hope the link works. I ordered this one from vitalady's site. I like to do a months worth at a time and this one is big and easy to take individual days to work with me.

Amazon has a few goods ones too.
