Ali,

sorry that you are going through this...hopefully they PET will be non cancerous.  for the vitamin issue I have some suggestions:

for iron look into Proferrin forte (RX) I take 3 pills a day, and my iron was single digits...now normal'

for Vit D, take Vit D3 injections (you can have any dr order a compound)

Vit B-12 I used to take injections once a month not good enough so I started taking sublingual 6,000 and i now only take 2 tablets  a week....

Sending you prayers for you PET

Thank you for this information and I will take all of it to heart.  I too pray that it will be non cancerous.  I am very thankful for the information that I have received and will put it all to use.  Thank you for taking the time to help me.

I know somebody with RNY who had a complete gastrectomy.  It was due to mechanical issues rather than cancer.  They're over a year out and doing really well.  They're still MO as they didn't do it for weight loss, but I think the doc threw in RNY intestines with that hope at the same time as the gastrectomy.

I'm afraid that person isn't on here as they're just living life and not stressing about nutrition (hence still being MO).

Sounds like they caught your cancer early and I hope you're OK whatever you decide to do.

BTW there's a list of RNY to DS surgeons here http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/revision/4630043/Current-l ist-of-RNY-to-DS-revision-surgeons/

Ali,

I don't have any advice at this time, but I just want you to know that you are certainly in my prayers.  I'm so glad that it was caught early and I hope and pray that it is non-cancerous as well.  Just get in as much nutrition as you possibly can to give your body the fighting chance it needs in any case.

You have a beautiful spirit and so much to live for with your new family.  Cherish them each day as I know you do.

Yes, please keep us posted on how things are progressing.

Alberta,

Thank you for your kind words and support.  For some reason today, I am very calm and focused.  I am staying positive and waiting for next week to find out the results.  I will keep everyone posted.  Thank you for your prayers.
