Lap band to DS and swallowing x-post to revision
When I had the RNY food would get stuck at times and I would feel like I had a lump in my throat. Since having the DS I no longer have that stuck feeling. However, when I get too full food will come back up. I am still trying to recognize when I am full. One bite too much and I can lose it. I can't drink liquids with meals either. I imagine these things will change over time., You will definately have restriction!
Good luck

I had a my band for 4 years. I had trouble keeping liquids down the first few weeks following my revision to DS. According to my surgeon & NUT, that occurred because of all the damage & scar tissue from the band. It's difficult but I try my best not to drink with meals. If I do, I'll get that annoying stuck feeling like I did when I had the band & the food will either not sit well or just come back up. I'm 6 months out now & I'm still trying to get used to the sleeve portion of my DS. I actually feel full / satisfied when I eat! It's such a foreign feeling to me. Of course I didn't have that feeling prior to WLS & I didn't have that feeling with band either. I had to eat slider foods instead of solid protein to prevent vomiting after my meals. Sliders didn't fill me up which made me eat more & gain more weight.

You should ask on the VSG forum as well. For me I could not feel more normal with my stomach sleeved. I do however have a larger/looser sleeved stomach size. No issues swallowing whatsoever. Depends so much on how much damage you have left from your band. Before I was sleeved, my lap band was emptied for 6 mos (I was like a pre-op without a fill. My band was very loose) and I had my band removed for 6 months. So my esophagus/stomach had a whole year of rest before I was revised. I think giving your innards a rest means a great deal.
I wish you the very best on your revision.
