Dr James Stephen Scott
Sorry, never heard of him as a DS surgeon. Be careful.

Yes, what Gina said - you don't want to end up being one of those disaster stories. Check out vetted surgeons on DSfacts here http://www.dsfacts.com/duodenal-switch-surgeons.html

I my DS
I think Dr Scott is one of the best surgeons I went to have the DS done in April he was doing it laparoscopic but when he got in there I had so much scar tissue he could not clearly get to my stomach so instead of blindly going on he decided that it was not safe and he closed me up and gave me the bad news. He apologized because he knew how bad I wanted this surgery done, so he contacted some of his colleagues to see if there was anything he could do for me. So on Aug 8 I went in and have an open DS surgery with great success I feel that he could have been like so many drs and just took the chance the first time around. He is a great surgeon and knowledgeable on all wls.
