Raw Coconut Oil Fast

I think I recall reading that b9 or folate being low could also cause a sore tongue, so it would be best to get thorough labs from your doctor to know for sure.

As for candida, coconut oil or coconut milk may help, but I don't believe in cleanses or extreme or temporary food fixes. I like some coconut milk/cream in my protein drink daily, as well as daily kefir (I make mine, but you can buy it too) to keep yeast and bacteria in a healthy balance in my whole system. If things get out of balance and the bad guys proliferate, I'm usually doing something wrong or taking antibiotics.

My sister battles this all the time.  She eats low carb, lots of fermented foods (veggies), takes probiotics, and tries to eat as close to the land as possible (nothing out of a box or a can).  And every 6 months or so she gets a round of antibiotics to kill and then starts the process all over again.

No.  It's a candida build up, and it hits her in many different ways.  It makes her joints ache.  Her head feels foggy.  Her digestion is off, and she gets gas.  She says it makes her feel tired and ichy.

Is it just vaginal or thrush and in her blood too?

I meant to edit my other post and deleted it. JEEZ. I wished it would just delete the whole thing and not leave a box. Anyway this belongs above your reply, lol

What is a current day's routine for you?

My current routine is not what it needs to be.  I've been eating too much sugar.  I had been adding protein powder to my morning coffee but recently moved away from that but I have fallen into the habit of adding sugar instead of relying on the sweetened protein powder to sweeten the drink.  So, I need to change that.  Another change in my life over the last 3+ months is that my boyfriend and I moved in together and we are struggling to find a balance with our food.  He's a better cook and often makes dinner which has included more carbs than what I would usually do for myself.  We are going to try some different approaches, fixing more of our own meals, in hopes that it helps him with his food control and that it helps me with mine.  We are a bad influence on each other -- and of course he doesn't have a DS, so the amount of fat I tend toward in food doesn't work for him.  So, as others have said, I do need to get back to basics but I feel that trying out a three day detox fast to let my body rest and clear itself and hopefully enjoy a little weight loss in the process -- I feel it could be a beneficial process.

I kind of see where you're coming from, but why not do a couple days of just protein drinks/shakes to get yourself rebooted? That would also be very low carb but would be a far more nutritionally sound approach.
