Much elevated cholesterol and triglycerides at 3 month

Is this possible?  I thought that most DS's have very low cholesterol readings.  The rest of my labs came out OK, I think, have to speak with my PCP.  Following are my numbers:

Total cholesterol:  244 (was 199 before)

Triglycerides:  117 (never more than 65 in the past)????

HDL:  47

LDL:  173.6

What is happening?  Am I digesting fat more efficiently than others?  I continue to eat a lot of fat/protein and have sometimes 4 BM's a day--2 at night and 2 in the morning, so much each time, and usually looks like tan tube clouds (TMI, I know).  Also see orange droplets.

So confused.  Please help.

Thanks as always!

This is unusual, High  Cholesterol is the first  thing to go down with the DS. My cholesterol was down 3 months after surgery. I feel by 6 months your cholesterol will come down. Do not lose hope.

Weird - maybe it's an error.  Were you tested in a fasted state?  I think you're meant to fast for not more than 12 hours - I'm not an expert on cholesterol testing so hopefully someone else will chime in.

I know it's very strange.  I've been trying to find another case on the internet and am not able to...no surprise there!  I was in a fasting state when the test was done.

I'm so confused and honestly a bit scared.

Huneypie, are you saying that there's a problem with fasting for too long?  I never thought of that.  I'm sure I've done that.  Can you give us any more details on that?  Thanx - Jenny

My doc's secretary mentioned to not fast for more than 12 hours, that's all I know (so testing should be in the AM).  It's probably worthy of its own thread so the smart cookies on here can respond.

I've always got good lipid test results even in a non fasted state, so that's not really a test I've been too concerned about.

having an oil slick in the toiliet is very common  for DS'ers.  As far as the orange color that's probably from something you"re eating...like tomatoes sauce or something..
