Lots of different answers here. I'm a newbie - at 4 months out I am at 19/day for vits and minerals, another 7 prescription.

At 4 months no problem getting these in. First two months I was just taking some chewables and sub linguals. I have a monthly organizer with 4 compartments. If I am out for the day I just take the strip with me.

As far as I can tell, there are two main camps. Many people believe better to over compensate and then reduce based on labs. Others, and I think a lot of Docs are in this group, want to start at some base level and adjust up. I think this is based on their training of find the problem/fix the problem instead of anticipating the problem and preventing it. Old school medicine vs preventative medicine.

I have 6 month labs in October. I'll see how I'm doing and modify from there.

Have a great surgery. Heal fast. First couple of days can be pretty rough but it is worth it.

Yep, that's about the norm for many of us ..

I'm 8 years out and taking around 14 pills/day myself.  Vitalady's regimen is a broad-spectrum hit.  You may get more than you really need, but I've never heard anyone complain about being deficient when they're taking her suggested regimen.  As you get to know your labs, you can tweek accordingly, but her plan is a great jump-start.
