DS MD's in Mexico
I have reseached DSfacts and posted the query here for a surgeon in Mexico for the DS. Aceves, Kelly and Ungson have been presented to me. Aceves and Kelly are not listed on the DSfacts website. Should I stay away from anyone not listed on the website? How long does it take for an MD to acheive DSfacts status? I'm looking for any insight and/or advice anyone has to offer

Aceves was taught by Ungson, so he should be just fine. I haven't heard of Kelly yet. I don't know how active the persons maintaining DSFacts are when it comes to adding new DS surgeons to the site. The ones there are a pretty safe bet for first time DS surgeries. The list gets extremely small for RNY to DS revisions.

DS on Aug 9, 2007 with Dr. Hazem Elariny
Dr. Kelly did my DS in June. I highly recommend him. He welcomes high risk patients. My surgery was made more complicated by my own noncompliance with the pre op diet. Even though he had to deal with my funky, fatty liver for 7 hours, he still gave me what I wanted and didn't make me feel bad for not being able to stick to the diet.
The only ones I've heard of are Aceves and Ungson (who both have good reputations). I'm not familiar with Dr. Kelly, sorry... but he's not the horror-story doc from Mexico I heard of in the past either.

Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
www.duodenalswitch.com has been needed to be updated with current vetted DS surgeons for years now .. DSfacts is a bit more current, but still out of date (IMHO). I believe Aceves has been doing DS for about 2 years now (note his patient stats charts on his OH profile), and he has a very recent DS patient on here in fact (M) .. In fact, I'm going to inquire as to him as to how his surgery went with Dr. Aceves, their concierge procedures, etc. as I'm interesting in possibly having Dr. Aceves do my sleeve revision. I am impressed by the fact that Dr. Aceves holds the U.S. designation of F.A.C.S. expertise. He has also authored numerous medical journal articles on WLS. and has 25+ years of experience as a bariatric surgeon. 
I personally haven't heard anything about Dr. Kelly.
The OH listings for DS surgeons in Mexico also pulls up a lady surgeon (has a long name, I forgot what it was) who is not only a surgeon but also is a F.A.C.S.. as well as holds a PhD degree. Her profile describes her as a rising star in the field of WLS. She might be one to keep a watch on for the future as becoming vetted for the DS.
One thing I noticed though about Dr. Aceves' OH listing is that when you click on the link to his clinic's website, it says it is "broken". Anyone know the web addy?

Ungson has the best reputation and most experience for DS surgeons. Aceves is an up and coming, but I've heard good and bad about him, so I'm not so quick to recommend him, but just to say I've heard of him. Dr. Kelly, on the other hand, I've never heard of in the 9 years I've been participating on OH.
