DS Surgeon recommendation for TJ
There are 2 excellent surgeons for the DS in Mexico, and none in TJ. the 2 are Dr. Ungson and your own Dr. Aceves, who now does the DS.
We have heard horror stories regarding some supposed DS surgeons in TJ. Your friend should contact the 2 legitimate DS surgeons directly and do her research carefully. And while it's wonderful that you are helping her, she needs to be directly involved in her research.

Yes, Ungson and Aceves. There was a guy whose name started with an H (can't remember it), but I remember the horror stories with regards to his patients. Yikes. Ungson and Aceves are the only two in Mexico that I'd even recommend. You used to be able to have them both, Ungson would assist Dr. Aceves for a little bit more $, but I'm not sure if that still happens anymore.

Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
