Alcohol Advice

The moderators yanked my post to you.  I guess I was too honest.  In all seriousness you have got to educate yourself about what is happening to your body at 3 months out and why alcohol is a TERRIBLE idea.

I'm sorry I called you an idiot.

I accept your apology.

I was disappointed that you said something like that because you are a frequent commenter and I respect your advice.

I really felt I asked a sincere question based on the advice of my NP. However, as everyone always states, the surgeons are cutters and dietitians are used to bypass, which is different than us. Guess the NP falls somewhere in there too. I value all of the information on this board because those who are successfully living it are the experts.

I look forward to the help offered on this board as I navigate my journey.

Just like most on here, I think it's a really bad idea to drink alcohol so soon after your surgery. My surgeon recommends waiting 2 years to try alcohol.

Why not just abstain?

My recommendation is to wait another 9 months.  The rapid weight loss you're just getting the swing of is putting a strain on your liver.  To add alchohol to the mix could put you at risk of serious damage.  I'd be lodging a complaint about that NP - her recommendations are very reckless.  Wait until your weight levels off and have a wingman identified in case you get into trouble.  I get drunk on half a ****tail, myself, and I'm 8 yrs post op.
