Hi everyone! I came home from the hospital after staying over three nights (exactly what Dr. K predicted.)

I'm trying to wean myself off the pain medication, so I'm taking Tylenol extra strength instead. I just hate that groggy feeling from the narcotics!

And this morning I started taking all my vitamins. I had two protein shakes yesterday and one so far today. I use two ice cubes and only 4 ounces of water. What seems to work for me is taking two sips and then setting my timer for 15 minutes. Then taking another 2 sips. It takes FOREVER to drink a protein shake, but I'm getting in 23g at a time. So far, so good. I'm also sipping on water every 5-10 minutes whenever I'm not working on a shake.

Before going into the hospital, I bought a lift chair (recliner). I'm so glad I did! I was as comfortable as can be expected last night which I attribute to the chair.

Looking forward to this bloating to go away and to feeling normal again. One day at a time, right? :)

Wow, you sound like you're doing great. Make sure you walk as much as you can as that will help get rid of the bloating.

BTW congrats!

It's great to hear you are doing so well. I couldn't get enough water in to get more than a half to one protein shake in a day for a while. I've still only had 2 1/2 at the most but managed to get my 64oz of water in.

The bloating was the worst! I want to say mine was better around day 8 or 9. What I found that helps a little is laying gently on your stomach on the bed and after a minute of gurgling I was able to pass gas and God I felt better.

Glad you made it home. I rented a lift recliner as well for the first month. IT was a blessing. I slept comfortable in it until I could lay in my bed!

Amy. good for you!  You are doing well.  How many oz of water are you getting per day?  I started taking my probiotic while I was still in the hospital and I think it really helped with the bloating.

Yeah, one day at a time.  Keep us posted on how you are doing.  :o)

Thanks! Some days are better than others. I've been feeling a little dizzy the last couple of days. I think it might be because I don't get enough water. It's really tough! I've now set my timer for 5 minutes at a time. Whenever it goes off, I take a sip or two.

Thanks for the tip about the probiotics! I have no more gurgling now. :)
