Day 11 - Allergic reaction

So yesterday my incisions started to get red around them and I want to itch my stomach off. I also noticed a little bump next to three of the incisions. Today the redness has spread a little so I called my surgeons office. Right now the best guess is I'm having an allergic reaction to the glue on my incisions. I had to peel the glue off, wa**** with a hydrogen peroxide and water mix, and now that I'm home from work take some Benadryl and hope that does the job.

Other than that today I got my 64oz of water for the first time. I finished the water so early I can't help but wonder if I was hurting myself in some way. I never felt like I filled up fast and I never felt like I took too big of a drink but I'm usually still fighting to hit 50oz until I go to bed. I'm super happy about the water but it was almost too easy today so I can't help but wonder if I over did it in anyway.

Sorry about the reaction. Luckily I can take up to 8 weeks off paid at work if i need it, so hopefully if something like that happens to me, i wont have to deal with that and work. Congrats on the water though! Did you feel sick at all? I'm sure if you didnt feel sick or bloated then you are just fine

Wow 8 paid weeks is awesome. I'd go crazy off work that long though so the week was enough for me. Hasn't been that bad at all. I couldn't have taken one more paid week if I really needed it. I'd rather save it accrue more and go on a real vacation.

as far as the water goes I felt fine. I almost felt normal! I wasn't drinking horribly slow. Smaller drinks but several in a row. Never felt bloated, full, or in pain. I didn't expect to drink this normal this soon.

I even got two servings of protein in today.

Congrats on the water. Sometimes in the first couple of months you just make one of those leaps. I can't remember what they called the bumps near the incisions I had two felt like a hard bubble under the skin. Completely harmless and they go away. It could be the same thing. I hope the benadryl helps - mine were itchy enough just from healing.

I believe the bumps are hives. Still just as red but it has not spread. I go for my 2 week post op app. Monday so they can check it all out then.
