So What does a Fissure feel like?
On the inside of my hiney it feels like someone is sticking a knife up there twisting it around. FReaKIN PAINFUL. Now I can feel a hemorrhoid on the outside but this is inside. Tucks and cream seems to help the outside but still killing me inside.
Is this what a fissure feels like? Do hemorrhoids feel the same? If it is a fissure how did you guys get it to heal. I am ready to scream.
I had one early out, about month 3, from the constant diarrhea. That didn't make any sense to me, but apparently it's common.
I remember that it hurt so bad to have a BM, that I cried out in pain. The dog came running, and growling. She thought someone had grabbed me in the bathroom and was trying to kill me.
It felt like I was crapping shards of glass. Hundreds of shards. I learned what "breathtaking" truely meant.
I got so freaked out that I would do everything I could to not go in the mornings. Now we all know the 'urgent need' thing in the mornings. This isn't something you can delay or ignore... but I tried to. It hurt so bad, that subconsciously I puckered up the hole and willed it to evaporate! Which does not work - only makes it happen with more force, and makes it more painful.
It also was difficult to sit on. At the same time, I was getting spasms in my anus. After a BM, it would throb for 2 hours. The throbbing drove me nuts. It was constantly reminding me...
I googled it, and became very focused on the back end for a while. I asked an old vet, who also helped me a lot. Once I got the fissure healed (and that was job #1 for a solid month), the spasms stopped as well as gritting of the teeth, headaches, etc.
Good luck baby.
What happened to cause it? It comes from a bad case of diarrhea, or constipation, or too large of stool. Whatever it is, get this changed to gentle, fluffy foam poop till it heals. It's your job to keep your stool consistently soft and fluffy for 3 weeks. One BM of hard/large stools and you are back to square one.
Stay off the spices, clean up your diet (no sugar, no carbs, no gas creating foods).
Start using wet wipes. These really made me feel better. Using TP is a killer when you have one of these.
If you start to feel like you have the flu, or get a fever, then it may be a tear in your colon. A fissure is a tear in the anus, not up inside you - if you get the drift. If you feel like you are fighting an infection of some sort, go to the doctor. A tear in the colon isn't going to heal itself.
I read that hot baths really helped. I never did this, so I can't say. I took a lot of aspirin and slept a lot.
I have been eating a lot of jalapenos lately. My poops are normal and soft. No diarrhea but everything you are explaining is exactly what I am going through. Feels like shards of glass when I go and pulsates like someone digging in my butt with a knife for a couple of hours after. I will pick up some wet wipes today and lay off the jalapenos. I love spicy. I guess it does not love me. I did have a rough day about three days ago where I pooped like six time that day and had gas all day because I had some sugar alcohol. I bet that did it. This is definitely the anus but my poor but is swollen right now so it seems it is up inside but it is just barely inside the swolleness. =(
THanks for the response. I hope I can get this healed up. I have to do it on my own. No insurance and still not caught up from being laid off so there is no money for a doc. =/
I had this problem, too, and I have a solution. Everything Ashley said is true - soft poops are better. Eat softer foods, yogurt, etc., so you have softer poops. Avoid the carbs and spicy foods, these can be more painful to pass through your ass. Make sure you are very well hydrated, as not enough water will lead to hard, more painful poops. Use wet wipes to wipe deeply and completely. Most importantly, buy a product called "Bag Balm". I found out about it when I did a search on this website when I was having similar problems. Most pharmacies either have it, or can order it, or you can get it through Amazon. It is used for cows when they have sore udders, and it works like magic on our butts! Buy a large container, which should be under $20.
Every time you poop, take a fingerful of this goop, and insert it on the anal glands as much as possible. It will grease the skids for your next poop, and continue this every time. Within a couple of weeks, the pain went away for me. I know the fissure is still there, but it does not hurt like it did before. I carry a small plastic container of this goop wherever I go. Trust me, this has been a magical solution, and far more effective than what the doctors prescribed. Your butt will thank you.
Good luck
