Common channel length?
DS on 09/05/13
My BMI is about 42 and my surgeon said that because I'm in pretty good health, he wants to give me a longer common channel (150) but he would leave it up to me. Normally he does 100cm. Any suggestions or comments?

I am just over three years out and had a BMI of 39 ...I think... I lost 100 lbs in 6 months and am still at 185 lbs I did dip to 175 at one point but really was gaunt and didn't feel as good. My labs have been perfect and I take 2x multi vitamin plus D3 and calcium I take a little protien but mostly get that thru diet. I eat about anything I want in small amounts . I credit this success with a common channel of 150cm. Good luck friend.
Mine is 100cm and I'm maintaining pretty easily. The common channel is more related to maintenance. You want it to long enough for you to be able to maintain easily without vitamin and protein issues, it really isn't all about starting BMI.
