Disclaimer: Forgive me if these questions are too personal!

How long after your DS surgery were you able to "get busy" with your significant other? And was it difficult orally pleasing your mate after the surgery?

My boyfriend and I were both wondering about this. I will ask my surgeon during my pre-op appointment, but I figured why not ask the very people who have been through this.

Haha sorry for all the euphemisms. This is not how I usually talk. But I didn't want to offend anyone.

They don't do anything to your mouth.....

You may have to be creative with positions but you can have sex really as soon as you feel like having sex.  But believe me you won't be thinking about sex for a while!

Hahaha! That had me rolling, too.  I was asking more about gag reflex, etc. LMAO

My surgeon said as soon as I feel comfortable enough, but make sure to use two forms of birth control.... I can't imagine performing oral would harm you... just don't swallow of course.

My husband was ready the day I got home... knew there wasn't a chance but he thought it would be funny to ask. I was told to avoid the pill for two weeks because it can increase the risk for clotting so I'm going to at least wait until I can safely go back on the pill to be sure we prevent accidents. We want a family but realize it is too dangerous and will wait the 18 months.

It's pure protein....  Get enough of that and you could skip a shake.

Me too.  When I was first out with my surgery, the slightest thing would make me vomit.  Oil, certain textures of food or drinks, sugar tastes, etc.

And my taste and smell receptors were sooooo sensitive.  I could taste and smell smog, pollution, dirt in the air.  I know - crazy.  Driving to work made me sick to my stomach because of the car fumes.  It took about 2 months for my taste buds and smell receptors to calm down.  So I would not be surprised if putting anything like this in your mouth makes you gag.

I was told to wait a month, for healing's sake.  A month is a long time, so we got creative.....

Gagging was a problem at first, too, but has gotten better ;-)
