Thyroid
Hi,
I have been hypothryoid for many many years, but it seems since I had the DS my TSH is hard to regulate within range.. I get it tested every 6 to 12 weeks and my dose is always changed.. I am being referred to an endocrinologist which I did see before...
Oh and I do take my synthroid medication separate from my vits. That did have an impact on my level before when I used to take it with vits..
So just looking to see if anyone else has had issues with this also
THanks
Kathy
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 10 years ago. Had my DS in October 2011. My Rx has never changed before or after my surgery. It was last tested in January 2013 and actually saw a little improvement, but nothing significant to change my dosage. I have to think that now that I am on such a strict vitamin regime, that maybe I am better about taking my synthroid every day? In the past, if I missed a couple days of synthroid, it was no big deal. I rarely miss a dose now.
I always take my synthroid with my morning vitamins, which is my largest dose of vitamins I take.
I wish I could be of help. I have non-DS friends who take synthroid and their rx's have changed from time to time. I just might be the lucky one who hasn't had any issues regulating it.
I'm also a lucky one in that both my Synthroid and Cytomel doses have not changed. I take mine during a middle of the night potty run to avoid problems.
