Another Vitamin Question

How far apart do your vitamin batches have to be? I am following VitaLady's plan and they are separated into 4 batches over the course of the day. Do I have to take them all the way up until bedtime, or can they just be a few hours apart. Also, she does not specify to take calcium separate, but some people in Bites and Vites talk about up to 6 batches of calcium. Should this be taken differently, or is it just depending on how my labs turn out? Same with Iron. VitaLady has it in the morning batch but I see some people talk about taking it at night. Thanks in advance for your help!

I usually take my vites between 2 and 3 hours between batches. I'm happy to get 4 batches in by Dinner if I can. I think this is mainly so you don't overwhelm the same receptors with too much of any one vitamin. (Just my thoughts I don't remember seeing the actual justification for batch separation. (except for things that fight - see iron and calcium below)

There have been studies that you only absorb about 600 or so mg at any one time. So doubling or tripling that amount doesn't really help. The vitalady list I have shows three separate batches of calcium at 600mg each batch.

Iron and calcium fight for the same receptors. I don't remember but I think Calcium always wins so if you combine the two you are losing out on most of the iron. Some people take it at night because it is easier for them to do it on a more empty stomach since iron can be affected by some foods.

LOL that's me that has 6 batches. I had a deal scan that came back with borderline osteopenia in a couple of vertebra. I have the Vitalady prepacked plus 3 extra batches of Bone Booster Complex.

What Pete says is correct, plus if people have problems with a certain vitamin, say D for example then they separate it off in order to try and better absorb it.

Get a deal scan as soon as you can in order to get a baseline.

My surgeon's plan says to take each batch of vitamins about 3 hours apart. When I added iron, I saw on VitaLady's site that iron should be 1 hour away from other vitamins so that added a couple more batches. I set my phone alarm and load everything into some cute travel pill boxes. So far the schedule is working...we'll see what the labs say soon.
