APPROVED IN FIVE DAYS!!!!
- Bring a pillow for the car ride home to hug around your stomach
- I wore a tight sweatjacket (made with the runner's wicking/tech material) the first week out. It helped with the discomfort and the feeling that your insides were spilling out everytime you moved around. A tight t-shirt would do, too. I would steer away from spanx as there is a lot of struggle to get in and out of those. (I had my DS done laparoscopically, though.)
- greek yogurt, low fat peanut butter, eggs (my program allowed me to eat these right after surgery).
- sugar-free popsicles! (still a lifesaver for me!)
- Love "Premier Protein" drinks (Sam's Club and Costco)
- When you are "camping out" in your TV/living room, designate a table for your meds, painkillers, etc. Include a throw-up dish, just in case (you can probably get one of those kidney shaped plastic dishes at your hospital).
- Before you leave the hospital, make sure you have a Rx for painkillers. (yup, I left the hospital without one. That was a tough 24 hours. ;-)
- Heating pads for pain and for possible constipation.
- Over the counter Milk of Magnesia for constipation.
Best of luck!
