Nutritionist in NYC?

So I'm delighted to have my surgery date, but I trust my surgeon's nutritionist about as far as she could throw me, and she doesn't look like a girl with a lot of upper-body strength. She's about 14, in thrall -- as per usual -- to the low-fat mantra, and she is definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I have no faith in her ability to interpret my lab work correctly. Does anyone have a recommendation? I am less concerned about someone telling me how to eat -- hell, I've been eating low-carb for 10 years; if I don't know how to grill a steak and make pureed cauliflower by this point, I should turn in my cast iron pans -- than with someone who can determine whether my labs are on target and what I need to do if they're not. All suggestions welcome.

Sharon Zarabi, who works out of Lenox Hill's bariatric program, is good on the labs, although she tends to stay on the low fat mantra a bit.  She is very good at diagnosing food sensitivities. She also runs an excellent support group!

We can help with tweaking here. You could stay with your current group and use the smile and nod technique with her.

Just post your lab results here.  The vets are really good at spotting issues, and tell you what to take, how much, what kind of supplements, etc.

I find the veterans here to be better than any NUT I've ever dealt with.
