Getting Pregnant...
So I'm 6 months post op and feeling great. I've lost 100 lbs and my doctor says everything is looking great! My husband and I have been talking a lot about adding a little one to our family and was wondering when that is possible. I'm not thinking about doing anything right now. But we would like to start looking into it. When we do decide to go about it we will have to use In-Vetro due to my husband. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
I think many surgeons ask us to wait until at least 18 months post-op. You also want to make sure your labs are in tip top shape.

One of my main reasons for getting the DS was to improve my odds of having a baby after 6 miscarriages and a 24-wk loss during pregnancy. My doc said that 18 months is the norm, but that one year would be fine provided I had already lost the bulk of my weight. I wound up pregnant at 11 months post-op and had a complication free pregnancy.I wound up losing very slowly but steadily through the first months of pregnancy and then gained just a bit. We now have our miracle girl. :-) She was on track size-wise the whole pregnancy and wound up 7lbs - a perfect birth weight. Good luck to you.
