Does anyone know what causes Edema post-op?

Alot of people complain of this.  Some say they come out of surgery weighing ten pounds or more than they did going in.  Its just the IV fluids  they pump into you to keep you hydrated.  I was one of the lucky ones that this did not happen to but I can tell you its only temporary, in time you will pee out the excess....  No worries.

Protein deficiency can cause it as well. It's easy for us to get in that situation when we can't take in 120+ grams of absorbable protein early out.

Oh, okay... I don't think I wa****ting my protein mark then.  However, thanks to the "protein coffee" I hit it most days.
