Bad Bacteria Overgrowth

I am 15 mos. post op with the switch.  I keep an over growth of bad bacteria in my stomach, I have did a six month antibiotic treatment and still test positive.  Has anyone else had this issue.  Also bad breath.  I've been dealing with this along with diareah since last August.  My doctor is beginning to think I have rapid transit disorder.  This is a GI doctor because my surgeon says these issue are not related to my surgery! Has anyone else suffered with these types of issues at all?

I'm sorry you're going through this. I haven't heard of rapid transit disorder but hope they can get you sorted out quickly. Please keep us posted.

Is the bad bacteria H. pylorie?

Alot of people have it. It doesn't bother everyone, but it's made my belly cranky. Very cranky.

Sometimes it takes a few courses of antibiotics to get rid of.

Big hugs!!! So sorry all this is happening!

I hope you feel better soon!

I'm not sure the type of bacteria.  I did 3 months of Flagyl and then another 3 months with a different antibiotic and still wasn't better.  I live in TN and my doctor's here are now sending me to experts at the Cleveland Clinic in OH.  I've had two upper GI's and a colonoscopy, several biopsies and no explanation.  My food leaves my body within two hours of eating it and mostly undigetsted.  Was hoping someone else may have had something similar.

Thanks for your support!

Some have suffered horribly from this, and it takes months to find the perfect '****tail' of antibiotics.  C-Diff is the common bacterial infection from untreated overgrowth.  Once you get it under control, heed the importance of probiotics, be it from a pill or daily doses of yogurt or kefir.
