Rice?

I have noticed that a lot of ds'ers say that they don't or can't eat rice. Why? What does it do to you? Would brown rice be better than white?

Rice swells in your stomach after you eat it. So I would so no to white or brown.

It doesn't bother me at al.  But I'm 10 years out.  In the beginning, best to avoid it because it has no nutritional value for you.  It's something I seldom eat.

Rice doesn't bother my stomach but it does raise my blood glucose (or did, haven't checked that in ages). It is, however, an unneeded carb that takes up space.

Each of us has to find what we can or can't tolerate. Some can easily handle rice, others can not...just don't waste your new tummy space with it on a regular basis.

I don't have a problem with rice, but I do not like to eat because of the way it feels going down.  I have had it every now and then tbs here and there

I can't eat it.  I have tried.   Never again!  It swells, gets stuck in our sleeve. Quinoa doesn't swell, however, can give gas.  Has more health benefits.

brown rice, white rice, wild rice, fried rice.  i eat it all.  doesn't bother me, but i don't consume huge quantities either, couple or three forkfuls is about it, maybe 1/4 - 1/3 cup max.

i didn't start eating rice until after a 1+ yrs

I eat brown rice once in a while, and it seems to agree with me.  As long as rice (or any grain for that matter) is properly cooked in that it has absorbed the proper amount of liquid during cooking, it shouldn't expand in your stomach.

My NUT has discouraged white bread, rice, noodles, etc. b/c the nutrition and fiber is stripped out during the processing.

I am 3 years otu and have no problem with rice of any kind. I eat it quite frequently with no difficulties.

Rice also doesn't bother me, but I steer clear of it because of the carbs. I find that if I eat it, I'm hungry really soon afterwards. So, it's a vicious carb spiral that I try to avoid.
