Could someone please tell me the name of the Rx of Iron and the amount that is good for us to take (I realize it depends on the labs).  How much Vit C do you take with it at the same time?

Thanks!

I'm not much good with iron topics but I know Proferrin Forte is Rx and the only difference between it and Proferrin ES is the forte contains folic acid. It's heme iron and doesn't need to be taken with vitamin C. Proferrin comes in 12 mg tablets and I've heard of folks taking as many as 5 tablets at a time. You snap them into 2 pieces to make sure you're getting all the mineral to help absorption.

I shall find out tomorrow how well Proferrin ES works. I've been taking it for two months now.

Please let us know. I've doubled up on mine due to ferritin being 10 on my last labs (my fault). I hope it works for you. It's much easier to take than any other iron I've tried.
