Expanding protein did not go well today
Tried Baby Back ribs with scant amount of BBQ sauce. OMG apparently my stomach can not tolerate every thing. It came up about an hour after I ate it. Basically vomited every thing up so no protein counts for that meal. I had this happen months ago with a chuck roast. I guess I do not tolerate high fat meat....................Surgical date 2/14/12
Its always interesting to hear how everyone is different. If Im going to throw up its within a few minuts of having my last bite.. Chicken can still be a little hard for me.... I cheated and had a taco salad and when it was warm and had the hot sauce and gaucamole it went down beautifully, but after it was in the refridgerater, and got cold, forget about it.... it was to harsh. Reminded me of how some people can drink warm water but not cold......

Hmmm that's unusual. I would think that fatty meats would be easy on all DSers. I do know that if I don't chew well or eat too quickly, even with fatty meat which is easiest for me, I will get the slimies and my nose will run and I know I'll be vomiting soon. Perhaps you're eating too quickly or not chewing thoroughly?
YMMV is so true with this surgery.
I can eat just about any meat. The only meat I have not tried is steak.
Chicken, all kinds of fish, pork, hamburger, roast beef, ribs...it all goes down fine. I am scared to try steak. I am afraid it will get stuck. Everything is so far has been fine and I am only 9 weeks out. lol. Eggs nearly made me vomit once, weird.
im 3 months post op. i tried to eat a short rib about a month ago and got severe diarrhea for 3 days. when i try to eat chicken or meat its too harsh. i eat fish instead. only way i can eat an egg is to poach it. and some days i cant even eat it. to get my fats in i eat avocados, nuts, seeds, cheese, 2% milk, 4% cottage cheese, and regular yogurt. My Dr says i'm eating and when i get my protien in he wants me to eat veggies and a little fruit if i get it in i usually only get 1 veggie in and then its bedtime.
I would not conclude that it's the fat as we need that now! Yes I agree it could be the tomato sauce tho. I'd do some elimination diet trials over that issue as you need all the meat & fat you can get down after the DS. Usually oil slicks are the too much fat indicator but like they said we are all different!
