Protein for Dummies
Who's the dummy? Clearly, me!
Okay... I am trying to get in the habit of protein. I do fine with adding it to soy but, when I try to put it in something warm, I am getting clumping. I understand that it can't be too hot so, I am having the food barely warm and, I still get clumps. I am frustrated.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I don't want to be stuck with cold protein only. That will block my success rate and, I can't have that.
You have to keep the protein below about 130 degrees. I find it works for me to make a small slurry of cool liquid, add the protein powder, shake or stir to blend, then pour the warm liquid on top of the protein slurry. If you're still getting lumps make sure the protein is high quality whey protein isolate and that the hot liquid isn't over 130 degrees.
