Does insurance cover revision, i.e. from band to DS, or Sleeve to DS, etc?

For those that had insurance cover a revision from a prior surgery, what was their rule for revision? I am not necessarily thinking on doing a revision anytime soon, but I am curious to know. I can call my insurance but from past experience, the reps aren't really knowledgeable but I will still try after the holidays.

It always depends on your own coverage. You should find out what your policy is, if you don't have a link to it on-line, you should call and get it from them. That way you can read your own policy and you don't have to depend on someone on the phone giving you wrong information.

The ins company I work for there has to be a 2 year period between gastric procedures and you have to meet all the same criteria you met for the first surgery.

All ins companies and plans are different.

Hope this helps

really any reply here is worthless as you plan is specific to what your employer decides to get (or private plan if you purchase private).  you need to know your plan, get a copy of it and read it from cover to cover paying attention to exclusion and covered services etc....good luck in your revision surgery....
