In the ER -- hernia and obstructive bowel.

I'm 6 weeks post-op. I've been feeling sick the last 3 days with on/off pain in my lower right, which is sometimes severe. I'm also nauseous, tired, and had a day of constipation, a day of extreme diarrhea, and constipation again. I also have explosive gas. I'm pretty sure the lower right pain is a hernia and it hurts worse after I eat, but I have not been eating much. The good news is that I don't have a fever.

The doc sent me to the ER to check if its obstructive bowel. The ER is going to do a cat scan with and without dye and then call my doctor to discuss the results. Hoping I'm over-reacting.

Thanks everyone. I'm finally home. Turns out that I had urinary tract infection and low potassium. Both are easily treatable. I feel relieved and should be feeling better in a few days.
