8 days post op
This journey is bumpy in the beginning. I love water and could drink 74. oz in a day, pre op. It has been a challenge to slowly sip throughout the day. I have found that I can only do 2 sips per 10-15 minute intervals, it takes about an hour to eat a pudding couple (if I don't get tired of it in the middle), I am inhaling popsicles. I am determined to get at least 50 grams of protein in tomorrow. I am 11 lbs down.
I'm almost 6 weeks out and remember that bumbpy road well. I followed the wisdom on these boards and am doing the 30-60-90 program--that's 30g protein by 30 days, 60g by 60 days and 90g by 90 days. It's made a world of difference in my recovery. Also, water is so very important since you're not getting much food in. I found that I was able to get down fairly well any type of asian broth. I would buy 2 quarts a day from my local chinese restaurant and this would be my water. Just worked for me and a possible suggestion.
