Vbg revision to DS. looking for a Surgeon..

Hello I am looking for a surgeon that will do a VBG to DS in Houston, Dallas/Ft Worth area or Louisiana..

Tammie, the BEST one for you to contact is Dr. Stewart. His contact info is on http://www.dsfacts.com

Not every DS surgeon is able to do a revision...that list is down to just a handful. He's one of them.

VBG to DS revision is every bit as complicated as RNY to DS revision. Only a few DS surgeons are qualified to do this. I agree that Dr. Stewart is your best (really only) bet in TX, and absolutely would not go to anyone in Louisiana.

Thank you Larra. I agree totally about not going to anyone in Louisiana, I just thought I would ask in case there was someone here I didn't know about that was closer to home..I have been driving to Houston doing all the pre surgery test only to find out that he will only do VBS to RNY. I told the staff in the beginning what surgery wanted and I don't know why they didn't tell me up front that he wouldn't do it.. I am going to call Dr.Stewart's office this morning.to see what I can find out there.

I called Dr.Stewart's office and they don't take blue cross, blue shield insurance for revisions..They referred me to a Dr Wade Barker in Dallas..any information on him? Is he a good surgeon?

You must know that the DFW area is extremely political.  Stewart did my surgery.  He has supposedly trained Dr Kim and Dr Barker.  It's a VERY political area.  I know more than I ever knew before.  I would recommend and entirely different Dr who is not on the DSFacts, feel free to PM me. 

I know of several people who have had problems with Dr Barker.  As with all weight loss surgeon's Buyer's Beware.

Just know, I don't know who updates the DSfacts website.  There are A LOT more surgeons in the DFW area who do the DS than what they have listed.

 

 

 

 

Do you know if they will do the VBG to DS revision? Dr Stewart will not take my insurance for revisions..DFW would be alot easier for me to drive to for appointments if I could find a surgeon to do this surgery..yes I am interested in the names of surgeons there..I appreciate your help.

Dr Kim will not do a VBG to DS revision..:(
