Dr. Stewart's Vitamin Regimine

If you have a great PCP that is willing to listen to you and order all the lab tests that you need, you don't need a specialist.

Now if you start to have a problem with something that you and the PCP can't figure out, then a hematologist would probably help.

Don't put the cart before the horse at this stage. Get your tests done and keep track of the results and go from there.

My motto is, don't over think things. Handle it as it comes along. Not all problems happen to all people.

Don't forget YMMV

You'll do great.......................

Good advice. My PCP will likely do what I want....but that's because he's so busy and frankly doesn't care much. I've been going to him for at least 15 years and he still doesn't really know me. Most times that works in my favor. But his PA is awesome! I will probably just work with her. I'll get the VitaLady lab list and have those drawn at three months.

Thanks again!

You are going to be a great DSer.  I love to read threads like this where newbies question, question, and the LISTEN!!!  Those are the folks who lose the most weight, have the least problems, and are the healthiest .  Okay, I know I shouldn't generalize and that this is not scientific and there are absolutely other scenarios, but I do believe that pro-active people do better.

Vita Lady has kept me healthy for a few years now.  I get her labs done and get the folks here and a decent PCP to intrepret them.  I haven't had to make many changes over the years.  I get labs done twice a year now because I am pretty stable lab wise and very stable weight and health wise.

Find a successful vet and hang on to her skirt or his shirt for the ride of your life.

what date lab list do you have? I wasn't just only layin' around being sick. LOL I revamped them recently. One new, corrected some codes, made it more like an actual order your doc can just sign........ seen it?

Michelle,

No I haven't seen it.  You know I've written my own order for years so I would love to see yours and tweak my order.

I've been bruising and need to get to the bottom of that.  Thin blood.  I don't take aspirin.

Glad to see you posting.

I would love to see that too. I figured it was something I could order on your website. I just did a big ol' order of protein samples and can't wait for those. I'll check the site for your new lab list.

something that just grabbed my eye. 600 mg calcium, one pill? that would have to be carbonate. IMHO, that's worse than nothing.

the 400's of citrate, ok, i just take a lot more.

they want you to take vit D by the 400's? Um, i disagree.

That's in 2 tablets. So they are only 300 each. And he only has us take 4 per day for a total of 1200 mg. The 400 IU of D is in the Calcium Citrate pill.  He does an injection of 600,000 Vitamin D annually.  So he doesn't have us take a Vit D supplement.  I'm very hesitant in thinking his regimine is all I'll need so I'm getting labs done at three months instead of six.
