At only two/three weeks out...you are still putting mostly liquids in so liquids out makes sense. Once you get to solid foods, things will improve. Just stay away from carbs, processed foods, and artificial sweeteners (unless it's one you have used forever).

Give it time...your guts are abused/cut/etc and are still healing.

And welcome to the Dark Side!

I'm 9 years out and have never had anything but diarrhea. It make it a lot worse when I eat anything with flour or milk.

You haven't found anything to firm it for you?  Like vitamins.

How long is your common channel?

Just curious how you deal with it.

How much calcium and iron are you taking? How many grams of carbs a day do you eat? What about artificial sweeteners? (Some are notorious for causing the runs.) Do you take probiotics, and have you been tested for bacterial overgrowth? Have you done an elimination diet?

When you start taking vitamins, things will improve.  Don't take any Magnesium - causes loose stools.  Calcium, iron, B-complex = tend to firm things up.  You will find certain vitamins plug you up.  Others will loosen you up.  Keep track of the vitamin and the brands that do both.  I write a note on the bottle label, and keep the empty bottle in a drawer.  I dig through there before I buy vits so I know what not to buy next time.

And previous poster is correct, liquid in will be liquid out.  And stay away from carbs and milk.

All of it will get better.  It's harsh when you are so new and your system is still healing.  A couple of months from now you will be up and running, loosing tons of weight.

I'm not sure what is meant "when I start taking vitamins" . I started full vitamins the week b4 .Does the vitamin intake change later ?

How much are you taking of what? Generally calcium and iron are, as my grandmother would put it, 'binding'. And yes, your vitamins will be adjusted according to your labs, when you're far enough out to have them.

Are you taking vitamins as per Vitalady? If youre following your surgeon's recommendations then they're very likely to be woefully inadequate.
