open or lap

When i went for my 1st appointment and we decided on the DS i was to excited and forgot to ask him if he will be doing my surgery open or lap procedure.....due to my weight what do yall think im currently around 375 i would love to just have the lap surgery so hopefully get back to work sooner just worried cuz i will only have about 3 weeks to recover and turn...desk job luckily anyways. I was at 464 for surgery and they still did lap. I lost a lot of weight in the 3 or 4 months before my surgery that convinced my Doc it would be OK.

There is something about the amount of fat around your stomach that can make a lap surgery too hard. They made sure to tell me that my surgeon had walked away from doing lap several times based on what he saw when he started but that seemed very rare.

Did you have any trouble with the recovery? He told me to lose as much as i can and ill be on a 4 week only liquid diet before surgery...they cant submit everything to insurance until i have my nutrision class so im nervous
