Peanut Butter & Jelly

Since I was young, I used to mix peanut butter and jelly in a bowl as a snack, no bread.

My question - If I have a couple tablespoons of this mix when I hit the soft food stage, will it tear me up? Do I need to get sugar free or low sugar jelly? I know the PB will have carbs but I'm eating so little that I don't think that will matter. Should I avoid this mix altogether or maybe wait longer (past the soft food stage)?

It should be ok...make it smooth peanut butter in early soft food stage.  My Doctor prefers real sugar over artificial. But real, sugar free or low sugar jelly shouldn't really matter in small amounts.   I think the jelly will make the peanut butter not be as dry going down and sitting on the tummy....but I'd lean towards minimal amounts of jelly.  (I to have always stirred my peanut butter and jelly together)

Early out I used to suck on table spoons of peanut butter as a snack.

I would use the sugar free jam rather than the real sugar jam.  Real sugar can cause serious distress to young systems.

Sometimes people develop sensitivities to sugar alcohols, so test the sugar substitutes and see if it sits well on your stomach before eating a bunch of it.

I couldn't tolerate PB at first, I think it was just too rich for my tummy.  Now, I love it.  I just polished some off, in fact. :D

I always used a spoon...and just peanut butter. Still do, it's quick, easy, and full of protein and fat.
