5 weeks out. Lower back is starting to feel sore. Is it to early to develop kidney stones?

Im on Vitaladys start up pre packaged vitamans.  Ive had a kidney stone in the past, so I know what it feels like.  Im concerned because Im starting to feel some lower back discomfort.  Im not in the knock down drag out kind of pain.  It just feels like its just the start of it, kind of sore, and slightly achy.  Has anyone gotten kidney stones really soon after their DS surgery?  Or maybe Im just starting a kidney infection from all of the protien drinks....  Maybe Im just being paranoid.....

Protein shakes don't cause kidney stones but you might want to check your hydration. Are you getting 64+ ounces of fluids a day?

Ive just heard they "protien shakes" can be hard on your kidneys.  I was worried about all the calcium Ive been taking from Vitalady as far as the "possible" kidney stones go.....Yes, Im getting all my water in...   Thank you, Gina

Taking the calcium citrate is what will actually help keep away kidney stones instead of causing them. Just make sure that you take enough Magnesium citrate, vitamin D3 and K2 with it for it to be absorbed instead of being excreted.

Your body also only absorbs about 50 % or the protein that you eat or drink, so you need to factor that into your "equation". Who knows, all the extra protein may be harder on someone that is normal and muscle building. But you are not normal in that way anymore.

Also, I think after surgery our postures change and we lose some muscle from being laid up for a bit. I have never had a kidney stone, so I cant compare the soreness of the two. I have had issues with my back since my DS that never existed before. I blame it on muscle loss and a new LazyBoy recliner that I hate.

Ive had lower back problems since I was fourteen years old, and from experience with Rocker recliners, six of them being Lazy boys.  If the pain started after you got the chair, I can almost gaurantee with a rate of 99% that your problem is THE CHAIR!   lol.  Some will do it, some wont.  It has to do with the angle that the chair has you sitting at that will start it going.  My moms lazyboy chair, makes my right knee start hurting everytime I sit in it longer then twenty minuts....  I love me a good rocker recliner, but the truth is until you get it home and sit in it for awhile, you wont know if its one that is going to agree with you.  Sadly Ive had so many , and givin up.  I havent had one for over eleven years because Im not willing to spend the money and be dissapointed.....  Sorry to get off on that tangent, but I wanted to let you know what I know in case it might help.....the soreness I feel is deep inside the lower back.  If you have ever had it you would know what I mean.  Its kind of hard to explain.  Like the starting of a kidney infection, if you have ever had one of those....

Thanks so much for your response. I certainly didn't mean to steal your thread! I am ditching the lazy boy and looking for a new chair. I had been debating about it and thinking it might all be in my head, but you assured me that it is not! It stinks to have to find the money to do it though.

I hope you are feeling better!

Not sure about the kidney stones but I got a sore back early out as soon as I got slightly dehydrated.  That was my cue to dilute a bottle of G2 with water and keep sipping until that litre of liquid was gone...
