Do you happen to know if calcium lactate is any good for us?  There's a little info here:

http://xpil.medicines.org.uk/ViewPil.aspx?DocID=18126 1-2 tablets (300-600mg) a day and it mentions it's used for (among other things) the following

  • "have reduced absorption of nutrients after surgery to remove all or part of the stomach (post-GASTRECTOMY MALABSORPTION)"

It's available on script so it would be free. It looks like a reasonable option. I would still take my Vitalady prepackaged vites which have citrate so this would be in addition.

I've never heard of it either, but googled it.  It is used to treat calcium deficiencies.  Good to know.

Wiki:  In medicine, calcium lactate is most commonly used as an antacid and also to treat calcium deficiencies. Calcium lactate can be absorbed at various pHs and does not need to be taken with food for absorption for these reasons.

It makes me a little suspicious that's just calcium carbonate with a fancy name.

Could be... just realized I won't get much K2 if I quit Bone Booster Complex so I think I won't bother.
