Now two weeks out from D's surgery. Is sleeping more than usual normal? One day I may be up and moving around....the next day I sleep for hours

Oh, yeah. Rest as much as you can. It will take a few weeks to feel like yourself.

Definitely! I'm 6 weeks out and the first 3 wks were difficult in terms of tiredness. For me, as soon as I started my full vitamin regiment about 4 weeks out, I've been KICKING ASS! I have soooo much energy that my husband and kids hardly recognize the new me. Previous to surgery (and 2 wks post) I always needed to take naps in the day; feeling so tired and lethargic all the time. Now I feel wonderful. I can actually have a productive day not having to worry to fit nap time in between things.

Good luck, you will be fine in a few weeks!

Yes!  Sleep when you can.  I was never a napper, never a good sleeper, but those first post op weeks, that's all I wanted...to get back into bed and sleep.  It passed.

I took naps several times a day during my recovery period.

You're recovering from major surgery and need plenty of rest!
