Stop vites how long before blood work?

I'm due to have some blood work done soon and I'll only get iron infusions and vitamin D shots if my numbers are low on the day. They don't care about previous blood work or how my numbers are trending (which I keep in Excel), so I want a low number for the day.

Any ideas for how long before I should stop taking iron and vit D?

Good question. I just did my blood work, and quit my vits for 48 hours before I went in. I read that some where....

To see lower levels you might have to wait as long as a month. For normal yearly or bi-annual labs, I just stay off the vites for 12 hours prior to the draw.

I'm going to hope that two weeks is enough as this hospital that does the draw does so during my normal working day but I do have a day I can attend later this month.

My Hema says to stop all vits for 48 hrs. Vit D to stop taking at least 3 weeks before. I've not been on iron so I do not know.

I did read that about the Vit D also. That's not to get a lower reading - that's just to get an accurate reading, right?

Shoot, only date I can make realistically is in two weeks. Hopefully that'll be OK. They're only open during my working hours.

Hopefully two weeks will be OK given mine is already low. I just can't really make it any other time as I have to get time off work for this.
