Do you exercise?

I got my DS around the first of the year.  I've lost just under 70 lbs so far.  I have another 40 lbs to lose to get to goal.

I noticed that the weight is fairly slow to come off now.  I don't exercise on a regular basis, but I am active and do hard labor around the house. Maybe I need to step it up in activity, or cut my calories.

How often are you exercising?  What type of exercising are you doing?

Thanks for you input.

I am extremely fortunate to have time during the day to exercise (unemployed), and I ride my bike every morning for at least 4 miles.  I am taking advantage of the increased energy I have from the weight loss to increase my exercise.  I too am losing much more slowly after the first 50 pounds, but I feel so much better.  I think the exercise is really helping because even though I've not lost a lot of weight in the last couple of months, my clothing size has gone down.  I think the exercise is definitely a big part of that.

And I can't believe that I actually look forward to getting on the bike every morning when I get up.  Of course, once the summer Texas heat really kicks in I may be singing a different song!

We got our surgeries at the same time....and I too have lost 68 lbs in 5.5 months with 33 to go....only to have it stall out the last 2 weeks.  I am getting very frustrated.  I have not exercised up until this point, but since I want to keep this going, I have incorporated 'power-walking' into my mornings for the last 3 days and plan to do this 5 days a week.  I still have not seen the scale move, but I do feel better doing it.

I saw in another post that you are any accountant....so am I & I just love me some spreadsheets!!!  I track EVERYTHING food-wise & have done so since I got onto solid food at the end of January.  I have noticed that my calories have gone up...but so have my fats & protein.  I have about 1500 calories a day...100+g of protein, 90-100g of fat & about 40-50g of net carbs.  I wonder if 'shaking' this up would get things going?  So I have added the exercise, I wonder if I should add a high calorie/high carb day to try to 'jump' start things.  I know Valerie has posted she would add a Krispy Kreme donut to move things along....but I am scared & do not want to undo my efforts.  I need to try something, because this is driving me crazy!!!

Or you could go get some ketosis sticks to check your urine to see if you are still in ketosis burn. If you are not then drop your carbs down to 20g a day for two weeks to get it started. Then after two weeks you can go back up to 50 a day.

I am not exercising either but not because I do not want too. Until I get off about another 30 pounds (guessing) I prolly will not be able to do much for the pain. I have three crushed vertebrae in my lower back that are healed but cause me extreme pain. No cushion between them at all. Bone grinds on bone. Just walking is painful. The more weight I lose the more I will be able to exercise.

My body never really goes into ketosis.  Strange, I know.   I am doing good if I get a stick to turn slightly pink, one square up from NEGATIVE.

But that is a good idea.  I should work towards getting that stick to turn pink by the end of the week - and keep tweaking my diet until I see some color on it.

I was wondering about the exercise too. I havent had WLS, I"m in the research phase. I have severe arthritis in both knees and one foot. It makes walking painful and my knees and foot get tired easily. I know they recommend walking a lot affer surgery, but I really can't walk for more than about 20 min and then I have to get off my feet. I can only walk on a treadmill for about 10 minutes, if that. Some days I can hardly even walk to the mailbox. It's not that I get out of breath or anything. But my foot is so painful.
