A question and observation
I think based on the boards, yes. But then again, I wonder if men are less likely to come on support boards like this?
Also, I seem to remember reading that women were more likely to seek out bariatric surgery. In most of the studies I've read, when they talk about the participants, it usually skews heavily female.
Guys tend to be more protein/fat oriented over sweets anyways. Also, they have the whole muscle mass advantage. I also wonder if our natural tendency towards osteoporosis due to menopause exacerbates the whole osteopenia/osteoporosis potential.
Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
My husband, who is in great shape and logs all his food and exercise in a ""lose it" app on his phone, told me he couldn't believe the caloric differences between men and women. He said, "No wonder woman can't lose weight. They hardly get any calories." Yes....there is a major difference in the amount of food that women and men can eat to lose or maintain their weight. Wish I would have blessed with a little more muscle mass....
