New Feelings

Hi All---

Ran into some people I hadn't seen since way before my surgery but within the last year and they had to stop and do a double take, one wasn't sure how I would react to what she was going to say but told my mom I looked great. :) Had purchased a shirt and had to return it because it was too small I haven't worn a sleeveless shirt since I was in HS (over 20yrs) and this was a really pretty one and I didn't feel out of place wearing it. 

Also has anybody after surgery been attracted to things they didn't really care about before for some reason I am really looking at makeup and shoes lol.

Yea.  I bought new make up, and tried some new items in the beauty supply store.  Not normally me at all.  I haven't worn make up in years....

And I wear my clothes differently.  Not going to the store in the biggest T-shirt I can find any more. 

Once upon a time I was told you can paint a pig and dress it up...and it's still a pig.  After that I never bothered with hair, makeup, and nice clothes.  Yes, people really are that rude.  I was clean, my clothes matched, and all my parts were covered.  Other than that I didn't care.

Today I dress much better.  Sometimes I wear makeup and even heels.  Sometimes I don't.  Probably because I no longer resemble a pig.  Logical to me!

Enjoy being a girly girl.  You deserve it!

I have always been the girly girl and I always got the comment "you have such a pretty face" ughhhhh thanks? I stopped wearing makeup about two years ago when fatigue consumed my life. But for the last two months I haven't missed an application. I cant wait to wear heals without pain again...

I got the "you would have such a pretty face if you lost weight" from my grandmother from the time I was 12 til the day she died (I was in my 20's).

I just never bothered with makeup...it makes my face feel yucky. Last time I actually put on makeup was for my wedding almost 18 years ago. And had to have someone do it for me. I just never took the time to learn. At this stage, my face is clean and glowing with health.

Love shoes...they do not love me...I stick to just a few...athelic shoes, a SINGLE pair of sandels, a single pair of flats, and various slippers...in fact I own more slippers than anything else.
