The Importance of Picking a Surgeon - for those considering the DS

I am in a PROGRAM with a committed surgeon, nutritionists, and psych staff.  They emphasized the "for life" thing, and in all my follow-up visits, I have been pleasantly surprised that my surgeon was there and took enough time to meet with me and review things.  Because I had no complications (a testament to his skill level, IMO), I thought that my last visit would be kinda a blow-off visit or that I would only see his APN.  Wrong.  I am lucky to have found a program and a team that I can partner with for a while.  So far, it's working for me on lots of levels.
