Getting discouraged
It will get better. I remember telling people the first 2 months that I was feeling ok as long as I didn't eat. If food solid food is not sitting right then your body might be telling you that its not ready for it. Stick to soft foods for a bit longer or if this is what you were trying then go back to liquids. G2 mixed with water helps with the dehydration. Are you taking an acid reducer like omapreazole? That could help. Are you eating a few bites every couple of hours? For the protein, try measuring out a serving of the powder and try and sprinkle a bit in whatever you are eating i.e. pudding. Every little bit helps but you don't want to overload your taste buds either.
Hang in there it will get better and easier.

Don't be discouraged. If your not ready for solid foods then let your body guide you. My first couple of weeks I thought I would never get to solid food. The changes seem to come in little leaps. Cottage cheese was my first step towards solid food. You might try an ounce of pureed meat. I could never tell when the next leap would come just have faith that it will get better and keep moving forward.
Around 5-6 weeks, I turned the corner. For now, stick to the most tenderest foods you can get. Go for rotisserie chicken (dark meat) instead of breasts, tender slow-cooked roasts with gravy, and lots of cheeses, especially ricotta.
Also, symptoms of dehydration is nausea and fatigue. If you can get properly hydrated, you'll turn that corner faster. Get yourself a big ol cup of whatever doesn't suck and take a sip before you do anything, and after you do it, then more sips when you think of it. Whatever it takes!
