Looking for a DS surgeon.

I live in Lakeland,FL and am looking to have surgery. Does any one know of a Dr. in Cental Florida that will perform the DS procedure?

go to DSfacts.com and look under surgeons. All of those are on the vetted list. =)

There aren't any in FL. Many folks travel to get their DS, so most surgeons are used to dealing with out of state patients. Check DSFacts and good luck.

You will need to travel, but it's worth the effort. The closest to you is probably Dr Dennis Smith in GA, who as an excellent reputation.

I second that... I just had my DS a few weeks ago with his practice! Wellstar Comprehensive Bariatrics.

I live in Riverview, Fl and I'm traveling for my DS. I talked to Dr. Smith's office and even got the wellcare info packet. That was when I was going to wait for insurance coverage. I got the impression that there were some hoops to jump through to be approved by Dr. Smith. I decided not to wait, so I'm self pay.  I can't remember specifically, but I think there is a surgeon in Orlando. Don't quote me though...Just do your research. There are a few DS boards online and each will have information about surgeons. Good luck

Thanks for all of your info.  Dr Smith was the closest surgeon i was considering.  This would be very difficult for my family.  I might just have to make it work somehow.
