For those of you who are on the fence about getting it.  It was fine.  It did not hurt at all.  In fact, I do think it made me feel better.

It's 600,000IU of Vit D according to his NP.

Sue said that some people get them twice a year based on their labs.  I couldn't seem to bring mine up with the 100,000 IU of Biotech so I decided to take the plunge.  I'm glad I did!

How often will you get your shot?

Depends on my labs.  I was at 40.4 on my Vit D.  Normal levels say: 30-100. The NP at the surgeon's office says that some DSrs get it twice a year.  Most, need it just once.

When he re-does my Iron next month, I'm going to ask for the D to see where it's at. It will be interesting.  We are doing labs every 2 months for a bit.

Is there any way you can find out exactly what it is?  Name, brand, etc.  Would be great for people in other areas of the country.

Patty,

ITA, a lot of people it would help.  Dr Stewart holds this close to his vest.  He will not tell anyone even other people's Dr's where he gets it compounded.  I know of people who's Dr's have made inquiries, he doesn't return their phone calls.

My old internist from where I used to live gave me Vit D shots of 25,000 IU.  I am actually going to speak with him regarding shots to help DSrs.   I'm on a roll with my thoughts.  We just haven't had a good time to speak.

PM me.

I get it every 5 months... it has made all the difference in keeping my Vit D levels in the normal range.  No pain and so worth it!
