I can't eat more than a cup of food, even less with dense or dry meat.  I can eat a lot more now than I could when I first came home, but I still load up my plate/bowl as if I had never had the DS.  I eat a third and put the plate in the frig.

I don't know why I still do that.  It's hardwired into my brain.

Do you still serve yourself more than you can possibly ever get down?

I do. However its much much smaller than I have ever served myself before... Sometimes I find myself shoveling food on my plate then a light go on like WTH are you doing and there I go scraping it back into the pan. lol... I'm guessing its going to take a while before I stop doing that. I don't think I can eat a cup of food. I wish I could.

I do that.  My brain doesn't get it yet.  I waste soooo much food still....

I waste a lot of food also.  I am not allowed into a grocery store any more.  I keep buying a $100 worth of food every week and my freezer is jam packed!  I can't get my arms around how very little I eat.  And I love to grocery shop (strange, I know).

I just made some soup, and it could feed a military base.  I started out real little too.  And it always grows to The Meal That Ate New York.

I cook a roast and it takes me a life time to get through it.  2 ounces at a wack....

I found myself wasting a lot of food so I started putting what I wanted to eat in a very small bowl that only holds 6 oz. I fill it half way full- eat what I can then if I have to throw it out I don't feel so bad because then its just a tiny amount. Mothers Day threw me off because we all had regular plates and I put what I thought was a small amount on my plate. I made it half way thru the meal and found myself in the bathroom because I had over eaten. When I am out of room I am out of room and it will promptly come right back up.

I know what you mean.  I have no warning bells like foaming or extreme salivating (drooling) to tell me that I am getting close to full.  So it's really easy for me to over shoot the mark if I'm not paying attention.

Nothing spells the holidays like having to run for the bathroom because you took that one bite too many....  Yea, love that part.

Ugh the extreme salivating is a fear warning for me, it means the heaves ARE imminent.

I do the exact same thing!! I'm 2 years out and I still order/serve myself normal portions.  It takes me 2-3 DAYS to eat a normal portion of food that I've ordered.  I will do my meal preps on Sunday for the week and I end up freezing 1/2 of the stuff so it doesn't go bad because it takes me so long to eat it.
