About 1 Week Post Op

I had me DS last Wednesday and I am starting to feel a little normal.  In the hospital I had problems with nausea and keeping 50 ccs of water down.  I would say the nausea is the worst part of it.  Man the nausea medicine Phenergran makes me so loopy, and I have the most interesting dreams.  I have noticed that I am a very smell sensitive, and for some reason my tongue seems a little numb.  Making sure I get my water and most of my protein in.  I have noticed a certain odor coming from my body, and I try to bathe daily... but I just have that smell in my nose.

I saw Dr. Jean-Pierre today and he told me the story (I heard from my mom as well) about my wakeup in recovery.  Dr. JP went to U of FL for undergrad and and Florida native, and I am an University of Alabama alumn... If you know anything about the SEC we take our sports seriously.  So Dr. JP is wearing his UF head scarf and he comes to see me in recovery, and he is waiting on me to come to....So the story goes that Im all groggy and slowly coming around and I look at him and say "Roll Tide" smile and then go back out.  He says all the nurses and docs got a pretty good laugh out of that. I think that should be a commercial...

I guess the biggest hurdle is crossed.  I dont see how I thought I was going to be able to have the procedure in the middle of my last semester of grad school.

That is a great story. angry I'm glad you are starting to feel a little better. I am 4 weeks out and the first

week was the worst even while I could tell I was getting better. Then you hit the point that you are sure

things are better and you start to smile some more.

I hope the nausea passes soon and forever.

How do you add the weight tracker to the signature line?

GO to your profile...settings....healthtracker. It is somewhere in there. =) oops just noticed someone answered you LOL. Congrats on your surgery. Get yourself through the first couple weeks and you will be much better and happy to see the weight dropping.

Sure. Try this. I'm sure there is an easier way but this one works for me. Go to My Account on the upper right.

Then to Settings near the bottom of the drop down and then to the Health tracker tab at the right of the Settings window.

There is a link next to Weight: about half way down. The link says "Update your weight in Health Tracker".

Click on the link and it will take you to the screen to enter your weight. First back date to put in your starting
weight  and then go back to todays date and enter your current weight. Then you come back to the screen whenever you have an update. I like the graph, it just makes me smile. :) The whole process is a little clumsy and I'm sure there are things that I am missing but my ticker gets updated.

Be warned - it can take some time to update your ticker. Minutes to hours. I usually just check the next day.

Let me know if you have trouble.

Pete

You're through the worst and should get easier from here on. Congrats. I'm making room on the losers' bench.
