When should I start taking the gummy vitamins after surgery? and how many?
Gummy's are for kids not adults and definitely not for those with a DS. And yes, get your vitamins from vitalady...esp the starter pac****il AFTER your labs then tweak them based on your labs.
http://www.gblcreations.com/Resources/Gina/ProgramDRNY_ERNY_ BPDDS3-2010.pdf is the list of what you will need but easiest way at first is to get the DS starter pack.

Even the adult gummies don't have what a normal person needs let alone a DSer. They have to leave out the stronger tasting vitamins and reduce the amount with much of them so the gummies don't taste bad.
You may as well save your money and get the centrum or generic equiv. right at the beginning.
Good Luck
DS 2009
The nurse I had in the hospital post-op warned me never to use gummy vitamins because they are harder for the stomach to digest and could get "caught" in your healing incision and cause an infection!
I understand your concern, but you have to really look at gummies not as vit/min, they really are not worth you taking them....centrum makes a chewable you can have until you think you can take the full dose, i assume you are talking about the multivitamins? i did centrum chewables not that i couldn't swallow pills it was just WOW that is a lot of pills to take in a day.....no way....so i did chewables for a while, chewable mulitvitamins, ca citrate, then i graduated to pills now i swallow a handful many times throughout the day...it is amazing what you can do when you have to....I take 38 pills a day...**** that sucks....11 are RX.....I am so used to it the other day at work i had about 14 in my palm after lunch threw them in my mouth then swallow a gulp of water and my co worker (which i didn't know was looking at me) had a look of shock on her face...roflmao... as she can only take one pill with lots of water and throw the head back....LOL the DS makes us great pill takers, what will happen when I get to 50 or 60 or 70...oh not to worry my endos said i would die a young woman since i picked the ds...love those endos.....
I'm with the rest about gummies but if you have them you should use them but compare the label to a regular multi vitamin to see if you are missing anything. I would also be concerned about losing most of it due to the fat malabsorption.. I started taking chewable multi-vitamins about 4 days after surgery. The program I am in recommended Flintsones chewable that I found on Amazon. They say it gives you a leg up on Iron until you can handle pills. I take them twice a day even though they say once is enough. I lack faith until my first labs....
